...you're lying awake at 2am, Googling your symptoms or asking Claude if you're 'normal' or maybe ...

... you're stuck in a pattern you can't seem to break, no matter how well you understand it. Maybe life looks fine from the outside but feels flat, off, or just not quite yours. Maybe you've been crying over a defunct relationship for what you know is way too long!

Approach

I work with LGBTQ people, identity, relationships, heartbreak, addiction, and people who just need someone to think things through with. It can be philosophical or practical, heavy or light.I bring clinical training and lived experience - I'm a queer therapist in recovery, with a background in substance use, harm reduction, and group work. I also spent years in the rinse-and-repeat cycle of addiction before finding my way out, so I have a real fondness for people caught up in that mess. My path to this work wasn't exactly linear: Fine Arts, an MA in Creative Writing, a few published books, and at one point I owned a bar on a Greek island.I believe our 50 minutes together can be honest, collaborative, and occasionally funny — not to avoid the hard stuff, but because sometimes acknowledging the sheer absurdity of being human is necessary.I'm a queer therapist with enough life behind me to know that the hard stuff is often also absurd. My approach is Existential/Buddhist/Humanistic with some narrative thrown in. We look at the stories you're living by, where they came from, and whether they're actually true.Seven days between sessions is a long time, so I'll often suggest small things to try in between.

I work with adults across California who are:

  • Part of the LGBTQ+ community navigating identity and self-worth

  • Dealing with hard-to-shake breakup pain or relationship transitions

  • Navigating non-monogamy, open relationships, or unconventional relationship structures

  • Feeling stuck, flat, or just going through the motions

  • In the middle of a life transition and not entirely sure what comes next

  • Carrying a low-grade existential dread about the general state of things

  • In early recovery, or starting to question their relationship with substances

I've been around the block a few times, so I work well with people who have too, or people who haven't yet and are wondering how to start.

I accept Anthem, Blue Shield, and Magellan insurance, and offer sliding scale fees. Individual sessions are $150 (50 min). Cost shouldn't be the reason you don't get support — so please just ask.Free 15-minute consultation:

Telehealth only, because nobody actually enjoys driving in SoCal.

FAQ

Completely fine. Most people aren't sure what to expect at first — we just start talking and go from there.

Very common, and completely fine. Whether your last experience was helpful, mixed, or just quietly fizzled out, we start from where you are now.

You probably won't know until we've had a conversation. That's what the free 15-minute consult is for.

That depends entirely on you and what you're working on. Some people come for a few months, others longer, there's no contract and no pressure.

You don't need to arrive with an agenda. Sometimes "I don't really know where to start" is the right place to start.
